First Rain of the Season

First Rain of the Season

With two days of rain ahead I scurried about the vegetable and native plant gardens today to get plants in the ground. The FitBit said 14,000+ steps before showers and darkness sent me indoors. My seed-grown Tuscan kale was at a perfect size to settle in.

I used my dibble to make perfect holes to nestle the plants in the soft earth. The dibble might be one of my favorite garden tools. I like the heft of it and use it for various tasks such as planting small bulbs and garlic. Read my post on the dibble in a series on my favorite garden tools.
