In SoCal, it’s time to plant sweet peas. Or, if you live in USDA zones 7 and above they’ll bring fragrant winter blooms too. In cold winter areas, wait until late winter/early spring, when you plant your peas. I planted my sweet peas and snow peas recently. Late September into October still has longer days and warm soil which gets them off to a good start. Planting sweet peas is a hopeful endeavor, especially this year with the coronavirus.
