In My Garden, Mid-November

In My Garden, Mid-November

My four raised beds are completely planted now. I transplanted the remaining seed grown lettuce and spinach last week. Days have been sunny and pleasantly warm. No rain yet, but I’m hopeful for something this weekend.

The 4 foot x 8 foot raised bed is intensively planted with 17 broccoli plants. In heavily amended soil they’re spaced 15 inches apart. Small heads of broccoli are developing.

I’m waiting for Jacaranda and Premium Crop broccoli. which have performed well in my garden for many years.

Five different kinds of lettuce in various stages of development, spinach, celery and larkspur.

Sweet peas headed up the trellis, two varieties of cauliflower, arugula and baby leaf spinach.

Thyme, chives, parsley, seven rows of carrots, red onions, beets and snow peas climbing.

The winter garden salads begin with the romaine lettuce this week!
