The carrot flower emerging. I like to let a few flowers develop for beauty and beneficial insects.

Members of the carrot family (anise, caraway, carrot, coriander, dill, fennel, and parsley) attract beneficial wasps and flies to the vegetable garden. These insects and others are the soldiers in the pest wars.
